Migration Patterns were introduced due to unprecedented circumstances, as we are now seeing more dramatic and frequent migration flows than before. To analyze migration patterns, we designed the following two metrics: Origin-Destination Flux is a metric which tracks changes of home location from one area (origin) to another (destination) and measures the magnitude of flow between the origin-destination pairs; Emerging Areas examines the inflow and outflow of people along with their income indicators, and classifies the area’s growth and change in composition.
